November 16, 2005

A 26-year-old air-conditioning contractor was electrocuted while working at the Orange Motel, 7800 N. Nebraska Ave. Tampa Fire Rescue personnel tried to revive Jason Sveda, of 2012 Sixth Ave. S.W., Largo. He was then rushed to Tampa General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Sveda was working on an air-conditioning unit in the hotel's attic shortly before 1 p.m. when he came in contact with a live wire. Co-worker Steven Koehnlein called 911. Police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the death as an accident.
