Son Accidentally Killed By Father In Pick-up Truck

A father accidentally backed his pickup over his 1-year-old son, killing the baby after he had wandered behind the truck in the family's driveway, Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
The family had just been shopping when they returned to their home at 15319 1/2 Carlton Lake Road. The child's mother went inside, and Samuel Elsworth Williams and the couple's other two children, ages 6 and 2, stayed outside to play. Not seeing Samuel approach the pickup, Billy Jack Williams tried to back his Chevrolet truck into position to hook up a flatbed trailer, Carter said. The baby died at the scene. Carter said the father will not be charged.
