SUV Strikes, Kills Pedestrian

A 21-year-old woman struck by a sport utility vehicle has died of her injuries, police said.
Witnesses told Temple Terrace police that Julia Pacheco, 21, of 8838 Doral Oaks Drive, Temple Terrace, was trying to cross Busch Boulevard at 6:34 p.m. when she darted in front of the SUV, police spokeswoman Paula MacDonald said. The SUV was a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Erika Cohen, 34, of 2602 E. 26th Ave., Tampa.
Pacheco was taken by ambulance to University Community Hospital, where she later died. No charges have been filed.
