SUV Strikes School Bus On Alt 27

The Williston Fire Department and Levy County Emergency Medical Service responded to accident involving a Levy County school bus and a SUV Tuesday morning, November 8.

The accident occurred in the southbound lane of Alt 27 and NE 155 Ave. According to Florida Highway Patrol(FHP) reports, both vehicles were eastbound on the highway; the school bus was accelerating, just having picked up two children.

The driver of the SUV, Marjorie G. Williams of Williston, her vision impaired by sun glare, did not see the school bus and struck the rear of the bus. There was no evidence of an attempt to brake, reports show.

Ms. Williams was transported to Shands Hospital and 10 students on the bus were taken to Nature Coast Hospital in Williston.
