December 29, 2005

According to Largo police Block, two drivers suffered nonlife-threatening injuries Friday afternoon, November 4, after a Chevrolet Avalanche rear-ended a school bus.

The crash occurred about 2:45 p.m. on northbound Trotter Road south of 8th Avenue SW, Sergeant Block said.

The bus driver, Shakita Bellamy, 36, suffered neck and back injuries and was taken to Largo Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition Friday afternoon.

Maria Olgin, 32, the driver of the Avalanche, suffered nonlife-threatening injuries and was taken to Sun Coast Hospital, Sergeant Block said.

Two of the three students on the bus suffered minor injuries, Mr. Block said. They refused treatment, and all three were released to parents at the scene.
