The bus was two miles west of Kinross when it lost control. The bus crossed the county gravel road at 298 Street and came to rest in the southbound ditch of Highway 22.
The accident happened at 8:02 AM as the bus driven by Larry F. Mullnix, age 67, was enroute to an honor band event in Fairfield.

They were among the 15 students traveling to Fairfield High School to perform at a Honors Band performance. The injuries sustained were not serious enough to be life threatening, but aircare did transport one student, while four others were transported by ambulance to University and Mercy Hospitals.
