November 8, 2005

A 2002 Ford Explorer barreled into a GMC pickup truck stopped at a red light at Nebraska and Waters avenues, hitting five other cars, sending three people to the hospital and shutting down the intersection for several hours, Tampa police spokesman Joe Durkin said. The crash happened in the northbound lanes of Nebraska Avenue. The driver of the pickup was listed in serious condition at Tampa General Hospital. Two other people were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
