Miami Teen Dies In Frostproof Hit-and-run

Polk County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that happened in the Frostproof area at 8:30 Saturday night.

A Miami man in a 2003 Mercury sport utility vehicle was ejected when the vehicle left the roadway off the right shoulder as it drove northbound on U.S. 27 near Bay Street.

The SUV, driven by 20-year-old Miami resident Brandy Espinola, crossed back over the highway and went into the median, and then rolled over.

Yansel Orta, 18, of Miami, was ejected and apparentlty run over by another vehicle and killed, according to the Polk County Sheriff's report.

The vehicle fled the scene, the sheriff's report said.
