Fort Myers Man Identified In Traffic Fatality, Two Car Accident

October 20, 2005

A Fort Myers man killed in a two-vehicle accident in Collier County has been identified as Cerdic Phineas Weaver, according to traffic homicide investigators. Weaver, 43, of Marsh Avenue, died after a collision at the intersection of Immokalee Road and Friendship Lane. An autopsy is expected to be performed to determine the cause of death.

Weaver was southbound on Immokalee when a vehicle in front of his Jeep Cherokee stopped to make a turn onto Friendship. Weaver passed the stopped vehicle and lost control on the gravel alongside the road. As the vehicle spun out of control it came back onto the roadway and struck a loaded dump truck. No charges will be filed against Deborah Howell of Naples, the driver of the dump truck, since she was found to be not at fault, authorities said.
