Driver Strikes Tree, Dies
August 19, 2005
A 34-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle accident in northeast Polk County, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Jonathon Lyod was driving a Ford pickup east on Deen Still Road when he drove onto the south shoulder and struck a tree about 6:05 a.m., the report said. Lyod, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, the report said.
