Bus And Car Collided Due To Missing Stop Sign

December 19, 2005

A missing stop sign may be to blame for an accident between a school bus and a car at Golden Gate Boulevard and 10th Street SE.

A 12-year-old student in a car and the bus driver, 46-year-old Kimberly Johnson, were slightly injured in the crash, which happened around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, November, 2 and were sent to North Naples Hospital.

According to Florida Highway Patrol Troopers, another passenger in the car, a 23-year-old pregnant woman, suffered critical injuries. She was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital.

The woman lost her baby. Omar Marcos, 19, the car's driver, suffered minor injuries.

Authorities say the bus was heading eastbound on Golden Gate Boulevard, while Marcos' car was northbound on 10th Street SE.
