Biker Dies In Accident
August 5, 2005
Jackie Allen Powers, a motorcyclist who was injured in a recent accident, died. Powers, 47, and Robert Rogers, 63, were both traveling west on Lake Miriam Drive when Powers tried to pass on the left and collided with Rogers' Ford near Sligh Road, according to a police report. Powers was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with severe head injuries, the police report said. Powers, who lived in Eagle Lake, was not wearing a helmet, according to the police report.
